About Me

I spend my days chasing the Sun's most energetic moments — the flares and jets — trying to understand why they happen, how they evolve, and what they tell us about our closest star. More often than not, you might find me just staring at JHelioviewer, scanning the Sun for the next jet or flare.

I'm a doctoral student in solar physics at the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital, working in coordination with IIT Roorkee. I began my PhD in December 2023, working with Dr. Vaibhav Pant on the exploration of solar coronal jets and the small-scale flaring processes tied to them.

Before this, I completed my postgraduate studies in space physics at Banaras Hindu University, where I spent my thesis listening (quite literally) to the ionosphere, using very low-frequency radio waves to study the height and density of the D layer.

Beyond the observatory, the mountains around Nainital are where I spend a lot of my free time — motorcycle rides along the ghats especially. And if I'm not out on one, there's a good chance you'll find me in my office instead, playing Valorant.
